25 | On 01/23/2025 at 9:10am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Selina Siao conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity for the infant component. The initial inspection was conducted by LPA Siao on 07/16/2024. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Cathy Edwards. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for a total capacity of 50 children, including 22 infants ages 6 week to 24 months in classroom A and 28 toddlers ages 18 to 36 months in classroom E. Hours of operation is Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 5:30pm. Present during today’s inspection were 8 infants supervise by two staff members at the infant playground. There were 7 toddlers supervised by two staff members in room E. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed during the inspection. All staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to their administrative site 376701101. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Director that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
LPA continued to tour the facility. LPA remeasured the infant room A as facility has made some changes to the room by extending the crib and sink area. Total indoor activity space measured to be 776.88 square feet for infant room #A, which is sufficient for the requested capacity of 22 infants. The toddler room was previously measured to be 981.57 square feet, which Is also sufficient for the requested capacity of 28 toddlers. Facility has sufficient indoor activity space to accommodate the total request capacity of 50 children.
LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots and cribs, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via the water cooler inside the toddler room and the water is from the kitchen sink. The infant parents bring all the drinks, snacks, and lunch for the infants that attends the facility. Facility provides snacks for the children in the toddler program and the children brings their own lunch from home. There are 12 cribs and cots available for the infants that are able to climb out of the crib and for toddlers. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. Director stated that there are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 06/20/24.
