32 | Facility Representative stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises during time of inspection. Facility Representative stated that there are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises.
Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Facility Representative Jessica Becerra stated that all employee’s working for the preschool have received criminal record clearances with the San Diego Unified School District.
Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. Children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Facility maintains a ratio of one teacher, supervising no more than eight (8) children in care. At least one person trained in Pediatric CPR and First Aid is present when children are at the facility. The name of the facility representative and the fully qualified teacher designated to act in the facility representative’s absence has been reported to the Department. LPA reviewed facility sign in /sign out sheets. Facility Representative was reminded that the person who signs the child in and out of the facility shall use their full legal signature and record the time of day.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with contact information for authorized representatives and relatives or others who can assume responsibility for the child and medical assessment. The facility provides breakfast, lunch and snacks to the children. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided by the Central Elementary School cafeteria and menus are posted weekly. Children bring their own water bottles. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors.
LPA reviewed a sample of staff files and observed that files were complete with immunization records for influenza, pertussis and measles, health screening report and current documentation of completed mandated reporter training.
