On 06/26/2024 at 11:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Selina Siao conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Nicole Hage and conducted a tour of the facility. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 16 infants (ages 6 weeks to 24 months)in the Infant classroom (crib room) and TLC2 room (older infants). Facility's hours of operation is Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5pm. Present during today’s inspection were 6 children supervised by 2 staff members. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the facility. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Nicole Hage that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.

LPA continued to tour the facility and measured the new additional indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured to be 718.29 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 16 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots and crib, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via the children's own water bottles and zippy cup and it gets refill with the filtered water that the facility provides. The crib area has sufficient space for four cribs. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. Director stated that there are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 06/18/2024.

LPA observed a total of 2 sinks located next to the changing table available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 16 children.

The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing consist of wrought iron that is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 1453.50 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Shade is provided via sun shade sail. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There are two little tikes slides climbing structure on the playground that appears to be age appropriate. There is turf use as cushioning in fall zones of the climbers. Drinking water is available via the children's bottles or zippy cups. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Director was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.

The following corrections are needed prior to the issuance of the capacity increase:


  • Add soft padding under and around the climbing structure to ensure children's safety per 101238.2(e).
  • Submit pictures of the new infant room TLC2 after the room is completely set up.
  • Extend the infant fencing area at the playground based on LPA's measurement today.

Director stated that she will submit the above corrections to LPA by 07/15/2024.
