25 | On 10/22/2024 at 2:30pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Selina Siao and Samantha Clinista conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for a new license at El Nino Logan Memorial Educational Campus. Upon arrival, LPAs met with facility representative Director, Belinda Rico. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 66 children including 18 infants (ages 2 months to 18 months) in classroom M101, 24 toddlers (ages 18 to 36 months) in room M102 and 24 preschool children (ages 3 to 5 years old) in room B105. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday 8am to 2:30pm and Wednesday 8am to 12pm for the Infant and Toddler program. And the Preschool program hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:05pm and Wednesday 8:30am to 12:30pm.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPAs informed facility representative that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Ms. Rico stated that they will be in a locked box located in the director’s office. A fully equipped first aid kit is located in each classroom. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located in Room M101 and B105. All required licensing documents were observed posted in the main drop off and pick up area. Children will be signed in and out via the binders in front of each classroom.
LPAs continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space for the Infant (room M101) measured to be 1,106.56 square feet, Toddler component (room M102) measured to be 1,267.1 square feet and Preschool (room B105) measured to be 1,043.93 square feet. All rooms have the sufficient space to meet the total requested capacity of each program. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, cribs, napping cots/mats for infants who can climb out of a crib, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Toys are safe with no sharp edges, splinters, or points, nor made of small parts that can present a choking hazard. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via filtered drinking fountain and water bottles which is required by the parent/guardian to bring for their child. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 08/12/2024.
