32 | LPA observed a total of 1 sink and 1 toilet for the toddler component and there are 7 sinks and 5 toilets for the preschool children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the Director’s office and the staff’s restroom will be use as the isolation restroom.
Facility will provide AM and PM snacks to the children. The kitchen area currently includes a refrigerator, dishwasher and a microwave. The kitchen area and food storage areas were observed free of rodents and/or vermin. Hazardous items in kitchen are inaccessible to children via a safety gate.
The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. The wooden fencing and chain link fencing is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space measured to be 790.05 square feet for the toddler playground which is sufficient space for the requested capacity. And the preschool playground measured to be 3506.68 square feet, which is sufficient for only 46 children at one time, insufficient for the number of children being requested. A playground waiver to share the playground at different times in the AM and PM due to limited square footage shall be submitted and approved prior to licensure. Shade is provided via multiple sail shades and umbrellas. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the preschool playground. There is a climbing structure on the preschool playground that appears to be age appropriate for preschool children ages 2 to 5 years old. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by rubber cushioning. Drinking water is available via the children’s own water bottles when children are outside. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Applicant Egle Athari was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
