25 | On July 11, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van conducted an unannounced case management visit and met with the site Director, Edna Vaknin. The purpose of the inspection was explained. Today's case management visit focuses on clarifying and confirming that the exceedance fixture is permanently fixed and capped. Nineteen staff supervised 75 children today.
During the inspection, the LPA inspected the Etzim classroom, formerly known as Challah, with a fixture in question with exceedance. Based on the Center’s water report, it appeared that the wrong fixture was capped. LPA reviewed the water analytical report with the Director, pointing out the fixture that still exceeds the threshold of 5.5 ppb. The Director acknowledged this and immediately contacted the building management and requested a maintenance person to come in the afternoon to cap the fixture. Once the fixture is capped, the Director will send pictures to the Department to demonstrate that the fixture has been fixed and capped. Meanwhile, the Director has put signs near the fixture to inform staff not to use it.
A notice of site visit was given to the director, and it must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with the Director, Edna Vaknin. |
