A filtered water pitcher and reusable cups are available for children when they are outdoors. The outdoor play areas were fully fenced and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment. Resilient padding and artificial grass were observed beneath the outdoor play surfaces. All toys and equipment appeared to be in good condition. Two sandboxes were observed in the outdoor play areas. According to the director, the sandboxes are inspected daily. No pools, spas, or other bodies of water were observed on the premises.
Required licensing documents were posted and available for review. Emergency disaster drills are conducted and documented. The most recent drill was on June 10, 2026. Children are signed in and out on a sign-in/sign-out sheet. The sign-in/sign-out sheet confirmed that all children on site were signed in to the facility.
Five children's records were reviewed, and all five were found to be complete with the required licensing forms and immunization records.
Four staff members’ records were reviewed, and three were found to be certified in Pediatric CPR/First Aid. The four staff members were also found to have current Mandated Reporter Training certificates. Transcripts for four staff members were reviewed, and all four were confirmed to meet the educational requirements for a preschool teacher
One staff member was missing her measles immunization record. The facility will receive a technical violation for not having the required immunization documentation in the staff files.
Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1597.16.
LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives (Interim Licensing Standards) outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
