LPA observed the outdoor play area to be free of debris and other loose articles. There are age-appropriate play structures and equipment present. There is resilient padding in the form of sand. There is shade available from trees that are present. There are no pools or other bodies of water present in the facility.
LPA reviewed four staff files, five children’s files, and facility records. There is at least one staff member with current Pediatric First Aid/CPR training. LPA observed that there are no current Mandated Reporter Training certificates present. LPA discussed Mandated Reporter Training requirements with D1. D1 stated that they understood. LPA observed all children’s files to be complete. Children are signed in via the Brightwheel app. The facility last conducted an emergency drill on 5/15/2024.
Based on review of the facility’s lead testing records, LPA observed that lead testing was conducted on 8/1/2023, past the deadline of 1/1/2023. There was no exceedance of lead in the outlet that was tested. LPA discussed lead testing requirements with D1 during the visit. D1 stated that they understood.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a
maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
