13 | On November 14, 2025 at approximately 12:20PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Melissa Zaragoza conducted an unannounced complaint visit, to deliver findings on complaint investigation, for the above allegations. LPA met with director, Sophia Adler, and the purpose of the visit was explained. Present during LPA’s visit included 14 staff, and 60 enrolled preschool children. All adults working in the facility with children have fingerprint clearance on file.
During the investigation process, LPA conducted walk-through inspections, collected pertinent information, reviewed facility staff records, reviewed facility children’s records, and conducted interviews. After the investigation was conducted, LPA discussed with the director the facilities plan to ensure that the childcare center is sanitary and clean. Based on the investigation, the facility has custodians who clean daily, and teachers follow a cleaning schedule.
After investigating the second allegation, LPA reminded director, to follow protocol when there is a child showing signs of illness. Based on investigation, the facility has a nurse on site in case children are not feeling well, and if a child is feeling sick teachers will check children’s temperatures. LPA also reminded the director to observe for any signs of illness during drop off.
Although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation(s) did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated.
Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Sophia Adler. A copy of this report was provided. No deficiencies were made today under Title 22 Division 12 of the California Code of Regulations.
NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND SHALL REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
