13 | On September 6, 2023., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Van and Tse conducted an unannounced inspection to finalize this complaint and deliver the findings to the Center. LPAs met with the Site Director, Veronica Figueroa. The purpose of the inspection was explained, and entry to the Center was granted. Six staff members supervised 23 children today. The teachers and children ratio was met.
As part of the investigation, LPA interviewed staff and reviewed all pertinent documents. Based on the information obtained, the Center followed its protocol and informed the incident to the family through its Learning Genie App, and the record of the Learning Genie App confirmed it. However, there was insufficient evidence to prove whether the Center staff informed the family right after the incident occurred or during pick-up. The Department has investigated the above allegations. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur. Therefore, the allegations are Unsubstantiated.
An exit inspection was conducted with the Director, Veronica Figueroa. A copy of the report was provided to the Director at the conclusion of the inspection. LPA informed the Director that the site visit notice must be posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with the posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
