On 2/23/2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Leong and Van visited the child care center listed above on an unannounced case management visit. The purpose of the visit was to address two reported incidents. During today’s visit, the LPAs met with the Director, Sandy McKeithan. The director was informed of the reasons for today's visit by the LPAs. Present in the center included the director, seven staff members, and fifteen preschool-aged children. All individuals present in the center have received fingerprint clearance to work or be in a childcare center. The center is operating within its capacity and in accordance with the required ratio of staff to children.

The first incident involved a staff member and a child. The staff member allegedly grabbed the child’s wrist. According to the director and staff interviews, there was not sufficient information/facts that support/prove that the staff member engaged in behavior that violated a child's personal rights or standards of conduct.

The second incident also involved a staff member and a child. The staff allegedly placed her hands on a child. According to the director, the staff member was terminated as a result of the internal investigation.

Please refer to LIC 809D for today’s citation.

A copy of today’s report and the center’s appeal rights were given to Sandy McKeithan. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Sandy McKeithan
