25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Rodriguez conducted an unannounced Annual inspection. LPA met with Licensee Patricia Sullivan and explained purpose of inspection. Present in home were the Licensee, her adult son/helper, a helper, and 11 preschool age children. Licensee is operating within capacity requirements on this day. All adults living or working in the home have a criminal record clearance on file. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
Day Care Areas: Lower level only:Living room/play room, kitchen, half bathroom, and backyard.
Off Limit Areas: Entire upper level of home. LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensee. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There is a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which are in good condition. Stairs are inaccessible to children with a child protective gate at the bottom of the stairs. Fireplace is properly barricaded. Backyard has age appropriate outdoor toys and equipment. Play structure has sufficient cushioning underneath. All cleaning supplies, poisons, and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to children. There is a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone.
Eleven children records reviewed were complete. All children have a record of emergency identification information on file. Licensee and helpers' record reviewed was complete. Licensee and one helper has a Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate which expires August 2022. Last emergency drill was conducted in December 2021. Emergency drills are conducted at least once every six months and are properly logged.
No deficiencies cited today under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12.
