25 | On January 12, 2023 at approximately 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with facility's health and safety director, Nedzada Baldwin, and explained the purpose of the visit. Center director was not present during LPA's visit. Health and safety director is designated with facility responsibility.
Facility is a combination center that includes an infant, preschool and school age program, each with a separate license. Facility is a Bright Horizons "back up" center that is provided to families that are contracted with family's employers. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm. Under preschool license, there is 1 staff member present with 1 preschool age child. On site there are 3 additional staff members (including health and safety director) and 4 infants (in infant classroom) present. Facility is operating within capacity limits and ratio during LPA's visit.
With health and safety director, LPA inspected entire facility for health and safety hazards. Preschool program operates in one classroom. LPA observed preschool classroom to have age appropriate toys and materials that were in good working condition. Classroom is equipped with age appropriate furniture and bedding. Mats are utilized for napping children. Per health and safety director, sheets are laundered after each use. Classroom also includes two additional sinks and a separate bathroom. Sinks accessible to children to do not provide water that is warmer than 120 degrees Fahrenheit. LPA observed bathroom located in classroom to also have a curtain for additional privacy for older preschool age children. Bathroom was observed to be in proper working condition, equipped with appropriate sanitation products.
Storage for children's belongings are located in the classroom, labeled with each child's individual names. Facility provides food service to enrolled children that include morning and afternoon snack only. Children's families are required to provide children's lunches daily. LPA inspected food prep area that was observed to be clean and organized. All food is stored and prepared properly to avoid contamination.
