25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the licensee, Angela Beniflah, and her daughter, Vivian Beniflah who worked as a helper. All adults had fingerprint clearance. The purpose of the inspection was explained to them. There were 12 children with the licensee and her daughter present upon LPA's arrival. The facility was called " Angelina's Preschool". The operation hours were Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The licensee owned the 2 stories single-family house. The daycare areas were on the ground level including two playrooms, a nap room, a bathroom, and the backyard. The off-limit areas were the entire second floor and a garage. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order. The temperature and lighting were adequate. There were the right amount of hooks for the children to store their personal belongings in the hallway that was next to the entrance of the daycare areas. There were a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, a working phone, a working smoke, and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies available in the facility. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials and equipment, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repair available in the facility. All the electrical outlets were covered. The licensee installed to put carpets on the daycare floor as soft cushioning to prevent injury. All the sharp corners were covered. The wastebasket had a tide lid. The licensee installed a childproof knob to the main doorway to prevent children from accessing the off-limit areas. Per the licensee, there were no guns, weapons, or pets in the house. The children's bathroom was clean and free of the harmful object in the lower bathroom sink cabinet, All the lower drawers and cabinets by the food preparation area were free of harmful objects. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced, The play yard was clean and in order. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, playhouses, slide structures, climbing structures, and children's furniture that were in good condition. The licensee installed the artificial turf to the entire ground as the soft cushioning. The wastebasket had a tide lid at the play yard. The licensee has provided breakfast, lunch, and PM snacks to the daycare children. The facility has served filtered water with plastic cups that had children's names. Mats were used for napping. Per the licensee's daughter, there were no children on special medication. The facility had all the required postings. LPA reviewed the children's, and staff's files. LPA also obtained a copy of the current children's roster from the licensee during the inspection.
