The outdoor area is enclosed by a fence at least four ft. high. The outdoor area does not include any pools, spas, or bodies of water on site. Outdoor toys and materials are stored in the outdoor area.
The program offers hot and cold food options for the children through the student nutrition services. Children have access to water both indoors and outdoors, using individual water bottles that can be refilled in four different water fountains. Children who do not have a water bottle are provided with disposable cups for use.
Children are signed into the after-school program through the YMCA staff. Children's authorized representatives sign children out with written signatures. Required licensing documentation is posted on the bulletin board and available for review in the multi purpose room. Emergency drills are conducted and documented. The last emergency drill was conducted on March 10, 2025. LPA reminded S1 that emergency drills must be conducted every six months.
LPA reviewed facility records, which included the files of five children and three staff members. All five children's files did not have an admission agreement in place. LPA reminded S1 that the admission agreement shall be placed in the children’s files. Children's files contain a record of emergency identification information. All three staff hold current Mandated Reporter certifications. One staff member has a current CPR/First Aid certification.
The new school year began on August 18, 2025, and the department was not notified of a change in director. The new director started on September 11, 2025. Therefore, the facility will receive a deficiency for not notifying the change of director within ten days.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.
LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
