25 | On 4/26/2024 at 8:45AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis Gomez met with Teacher, Maureen Lin. The purpose of today's inspection was explained and was for an Unannounced, Annual Random inspection. Facility is licensed to operate a preschool program. Principal, Sarah Twiest arrived during inspection. Present were 11 staff supervising 36 children. Personnel receives criminal record clearances through school district. The preschool program utilizes 3 classrooms: #101, #102, #103 and one, shared Outdoor Play Yard. LPA inspected this facility for health and safety hazards.
At 9:10AM., LPA observed the following: Classrooms were clean, orderly, with age-appropriate materials available for the children. All floor and ground surfaces leading to exits were clear of obstructions. Each classroom was equipped with tables and chairs, scaled to the proper size, and labeled cubbies for storage. Accessible furniture was free of sharp corners. The children’s bathrooms were observed clean with fixtures in operating condition. Classrooms had additional storage closets and cabinets of teaching supplies. Functioning child safety locks had been installed on the lower hanging cabinets. Diaper changing table was available for the staff. Per staff, padding is disinfected after each use. For solid waste, trash bins area equipped with tight-fitting lids, and is removed daily.
At 9:55AM., Based on observations, LPA confirmed accessible peeling paint on walls in two classrooms (103, 101). Advisory Note: Technical Violation (LIC9102TV) was issued.
For scheduled rest/ nap, facility has several stackable cots, labelled with children’s names. Per staff, napping sheets and blankets are washed weekly by the families. The classrooms had adequate ventilation, lighting, and was a comfortable temperature. Facility had a functioning telephone service, carbon monoxide (CO) detector, and fully changed fire extinguishers: 2A:10BC located in hallways. The cleaning compounds, detergents, medications, and other items which could pose a danger were stored inaccessible to children. (REFER TO 809c, FOR CONT.)
