The purpose of the inspection was explained, and LPA was granted entry to the home by the helper. Per the helper, the Licensee is recovering from surgery upstairs. During the inspection, the Licensee made her way down and met LPA. All adults living in the home or working at the daycare have cleared criminal records. Days and Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8 am- 6:00 pm. Daycare Areas are on the ground level, including a playroom, two nap rooms, a kitchen/dining area, and the backyard. Off-limit areas are the garage and the whole second-floor level. Days and operation hours are 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday. LPA and the Licensee's helper toured the childcare areas for health and safety hazards. The childcare area is clean, with age-appropriate toys and equipment. The house has sufficient lighting and ventilation. A functional telephone, multiple working smokes and carbon monoxide detectors, and a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher are all in the house. LPA reviewed and discussed the new Safe Sleep Regulation with the Licensees. LPA reminded the Licensees that playpens and cribs should have no toys, pillows inside, and no objects hanging above the cribs/playpens. All mattresses shall be designed for that cribs, and bedsheets should be tight-fitted. In addition, LPA reminded the helper that facility staff must physically check on the infant every 15 minutes during naptime. Documentation shall be maintained in the infant's file and be available to the department for review.
