In the nap room, LPAs observed four cribs, each free of toys, blankets, pillows, or loose items. The mattresses fit properly, and the sheets were tightly secured. Infant safe sleep logs were reviewed and found to be complete, with accurate 15-minute documentation, including dates, times, and staff initials.
The backyard was fully enclosed and contained appropriate play equipment. The outdoor area was free of hazards, clutter, or debris.
LPAs reminded the licensee that she must remain on-site during all operating hours to ensure continuous supervision. If temporarily absent, the absence may not exceed twenty percent of the facility’s daily operating hours. The licensee acknowledged this requirement.
A review of children’s and staff records showed that the files were complete and well-maintained. Children’s records included emergency information, immunization documentation, and parental rights forms. Staff files contained required immunizations and current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications. All required postings were visible.
The licensee reported that fire and earthquake drills were conducted monthly, with the most recent drill completed on May 20, 2026.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice) / (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm.
