The facility was equipped with age-appropriate toys, furniture, and learning materials. Each child had a designated storage area labeled with their name. Child safety covers were fitted on electrical outlets. The bathroom was clean, fully operational, and with essential sanitation supplies.
The facility has an outdoor waiver approved by the Department, which allows no more than thirteen children at a time. LPA observed a group of six children with one staff member in the outdoor playground, in compliance with the outdoor waiver. The outdoor playground was clean and free of debris, with a fence at least four feet tall. Play equipment was in good condition, with no sharp, loose, or pointed parts. No pools, spas, or bodies of water were present on the property.
Parents are required to provide lunch and snacks for their children. The director stated that three children required prescribed medications. Prescribed medications for the three children were found to be current, labeled with the doctor's and child’s info, and in their original packaging. The facility provides filtered water for its children.
The facility offers two part-time programs, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Since the facility operates a part-time program, it is not required to have sleeping equipment for its children.
LPA reviewed five children’s files and found that each record is complete. The files contained emergency identification information and required immunizations. Infant sleep logs for napping infants, which include the time and person checking on the infants, were reviewed and found to be completed.
LPA reviewed three staff files and found that each record is complete. All three staff members have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR and Mandated Reporter Training certificates.
LPA reviewed transcripts for three staff members and confirmed that each has completed twelve Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, qualifying them to work as teachers.
LPA reviewed S3’s measles records but was unable to find them in her file. LPA requested that she email the department once she obtains her measles vaccination record or proof of immunity.
