25 | On December 6, 2023., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van conducted a required inspection and met the Licensee, Sofiya Turkenich. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to the Licensee and was given access to the property. The Licensee and a helper supervised ten children today: two infants and eight preschoolers. All adults living and working in the home have a criminal record clearance. The physical layout of the property remained unchanged, with the same off-limits and childcare areas. Childcare areas are on the ground level, including a playroom, dining area, nap room, bathroom, and wooden deck in the front of the backyard. Off-limit areas are the entire second level of the house, the kitchen on the ground floor, the garage, and the back portion of the cemented backyard. All off-limits areas have been appropriately blocked off from the children. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 PM.
The Licensee's childcare areas were inspected and evaluated by LPA for any potential health and safety concerns. The childcare areas were observed to be clean and organized, with age-appropriate activities such as imaginary and manipulative play. The childcare areas have proper heating, lighting, and ventilation, and no defects or situations that could endanger children in care were detected. The facility had a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and a functional phone. All detergents and cleaning agents were kept out of the reach of children. According to the Licensee, no firearms, weapons, or pets were on the premises, and no baby walkers, bouncers, or similar equipment were used in the daycare. The Licensee was informed that smoking is prohibited in family childcare facilities. The backyard was observed to be completely fenced. There are age-appropriate toys and play structures.
