25 | On April 11th, 2024, at approximately 8:45am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano arrived at the facility to conduct an annual inspection. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA met with licensee, Delia M. Suarez. Present in the facility were licensee and two assistants supervising 10 children (1 infant, 7 preschool age, and 2 school age). Facility is operating within capacity limits on this day. All adult living and working in the home are fingerprint cleared and associated.
Licensee owns home and lives with adult husband. Home is a 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom, two level house. The Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm. Facility was inspected and the Daycare areas are: Street level: Dining area, Bedroom #1, and Bathroom #1. Lower Level: Backyard, and Backhouse in the Backyard. Off limit areas are: Entire Lower Level: Bedroom #3, #4, #5, Bathroom #2, and Laundry Room. Street Level: Living Room/Office, Bedroom# 2, Kitchen (eating only), and Garage. All off limit areas, including closets, are properly barricaded.
LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensee to inspect for health and safety hazards. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. There were a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which were in good condition. Home does have a fireplace that is properly barricaded and covered. Licensee has pet birds that are separated from daycare children. There are no pools, and bodies of water in the premises. LPA reminded licensee about water safety and best practices. All cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals were stored inaccessible to children. Discipline Policy was discussed. Infant children sleep in cribs inside of Bedroom #1. LPA observed pertinent documents to be posted on the entryway hallway. Per licensee, sick children are separated depending on where the majority of the children are to be able to isolate.
There were multiple fully charged fire extinguishers, smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm, and a working telephone on site. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Per Licensee, there are no weapons/firearms in the home. LPA reviewed 10 children's' record which were complete. LPA also reviewed facility and employee records. Licensees CPR & First Aid Certificate will expire 10/2025. Licensee's Mandated Reporter will expire on 01/2026. Last Emergency drill was conducted 01/2024. Emergency drills must be conducted at least once every six months and should be properly logged.
