LPA observed that the food preparation area was clean, sanitary, and no food contamination was noted. LPA also observed the outdoor play area and found a variety of play and sports equipment available for the children. All play structures are in good repair, and the playground is free from health and safety hazards.
The facility has fully stocked first aid kit in each classroom. According to Heidi, there are two children with allergies, and LPA observed that all medications were in original packaging, up to date, and properly stored in a locked container, including the LIC 9221 form.
The director stated that an isolation area is available near the classroom for ill children to wait for their guardians.
The facility provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks in addition to milk and drinking water.
The facility uses an electronic sign-in/out app called "Care Connect" LPA observed that all authorized representatives signed in for today.
All posting requirements are met by the facility, including the License, Parent's Rights, and California Child Passenger Safety Law which is observed at the center. LPA reviewed the facility records, which included 10 children's files, and 5 staff files. LPA found that all required documents were present in the children's files, including immunization records, LIC 700, and Personal-Parents Rights. LPA also verified that all necessary documents were available in the staff files, including Employee Rights and Mandated Reporter Training documentation.
The director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
