25 | On January 28, 2025, at approximately 10.40am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tso made an unannounced required visit to the child care center listed above. The LPA was granted entry by the Director Lynette, Jones. The Director was informed of the reason for today's visit by the LPA. Present in the center included the Director, 6 staff members and 10 infants and 2 toddlers. All individuals listed on the facility’s roster have been granted permission to work or be present in a childcare center. The center is operating within its capacity and in accordance with the required ratio of staff to children. Hours of operation are Monday- Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
LPA assessed the Center for Health and Safety Hazards with the Director. The facility maintains a record of sign-in/out for children, and all parent signatures were accounted for and matched the number of children present. The children’s classroom environment appeared clean and organized, with appropriate heating, lighting, and ventilation. The Center also provided age-appropriate toys, furnishings, changing tables, and equipment. LPA did not observe any pools, spas, or other bodies of water, nor did they notice any bouncers, exersaucers, or similar equipment at the facility. According to the Director, no firearms or weapons are present at the Center, and all cleaning materials and potentially hazardous objects are kept out of reach of children. Personnel restrooms are separate from the children, and all solid waste storage containers have tightly fitted lids. The Center also maintains a carbon monoxide detector (tested under working conditions), centralized smoke alarm, fully charged fire extinguisher, and First Aid kit. Designated cubbies are available for children to store their belongings. Per Director, the facility provides disposable diapers and wipes for their infants at the center. The diaper changing table has at least 1" thick padding, is covered with disposable paper and has at least 3" elevated edges. The changing tables are within arm's reach of the sink, and disposable wipes are used to clean after each usage. There is sufficient sleeping equipment and cots and cribs for each child, and all mats and bedding are kept in the appropriate location. The napping equipment and mattresses, cover sheet are sanitized daily. LPA has reminded the Director that emergency exits must always remain clear, and that cots and cribs cannot be placed in a manner that obstructs emergency exits. LPA reminded the Director to ensure no blanket for infant napping in the cribs (Refer to LIC9102). LPA also observed that the food preparation site is clean, organized, and inaccessible to children.
