Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini arrived at the facility unannounced to close the complaint investigation into the above allegation and met with Director Sarina Escalante. Present in the facility is director, 8 teachers, supervising 18 Preschoolers. During the course of investigation, LPA Saini conducted interviews, reviewed and obtained pertaining records.
Based on interviews conducted with the Director, Staff, and Guardians, the Director states that discipline policy is mainly ‘redirection.’ If a child is having a difficulty settling down, a child is redirected to another activity/area.The facility states that staff do not aggressively handle or grab the children in care and no one has witnessed anyone grabbing any child inappropriately. Although the allegation of facility Staff inappropriately grabbed/mishandled a daycare child may have happened or may be valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is found to be 'Unsubstantiated.'
