The daycare provides age-appropriate toys, furniture, and learning materials. The daycare is equipped with child safety gates at the backyard stairs and stairs leading to the upper level, outlet covers for electrical outlets, safety locks on all cabinets accessible to the children, and stove knob covers.
A bottle of dish detergent was observed on the kitchen floor, next to the stove. S2 removed the dish detergent immediately and placed it on top of the kitchen counter, inaccessible to the children. Therefore, the facility will receive a technical violation.
The licensee confirmed that there are no firearms or weapons on the premises.
The backyard is surrounded by a fence and free of debris. Outdoor play equipment is available for children to use and is in good condition. LPA did not find any pools, spas, or other bodies of water on the property.
The facility provides lunch and snacks for its children. According to S1, none of the enrolled children require medication or have allergies.
LPA observed that mats and a crib were provided for the children in care. Parents are required to supply blankets for their children, and they are laundered weekly by the parents.
LPA observed loose sheets inside one of the cribs. S1 removed the loose sheets from the crib immediately. The crib did not have a child inside the crib. Therefore, the facility will receive a technical violation.
LPA requested an updated children’s roster from S1 for review, but S1 stated that she did not have an updated roster. Therefore, the facility will receive a technical violation.
LPA reviewed five children’s files and found that one file was complete with all required licensing forms. The records of the other four children did not contain the correct licensing form, LIC 995A, in their files. Therefore, the facility will receive a technical violation.
Infant sleep logs for two children were reviewed and found to be complete, which included the dates and signatures from the staff. One infant started care on August 12, 2025, but the facility has not yet begun maintaining a sleep log for the child. Therefore, the facility will receive a technical violation.
LPA reviewed two staff files, which were found to be complete and included all required licensing forms, with valid Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates. S2 has a valid Mandated Reporter Training certificate, which expires in January 2026.
