Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. Purpose of the visit was explained to the Regional Manager, Ellen Peterson-Allen. There were 14 toddlers and 11 preschooler with 9 staff present upon LPA arrival. Two toddlers were picked up and 1 preschooler was dropped off during the inspection. The Facility met the teacher/child ratio today. Indoor and outdoor areas were inspected today for health and safety hazards. No apparent hazards were observed. There were two big classrooms at this center. One of the classrooms was used for preschool. It's called "FD1". Another classroom was used for the Toddler program. The classroom was separated into 2 section by the shelves, partition and a gate. Those sessions were called "FD2A" and "FD2B". The lighting and temperature were adequate. The center was clean and in order. There were plenty of the age-appropriate toys, books, learning material, and children's furniture. The children's furniture were in good condition and repair. All electrical outlets were covered. Each classroom has two toilets and two sinks available for children. Separated staff bathrooms were available for staffs on site. Children's toilet and sinks were appropriate in size and height for children. Each child had their own cubby to store their own belongings. The facility provided breakfast, Lunch, and PM snack from Chefables. The food preparation area was inspected All food waste bins had the tide lids. Drinking water was available with cups in each classroom for the children. First aid supplies were available for children in each classroom. Napping equipment were available for children with the covesr to protect their bedding. Parents took blankets home to wash every other Fridays. Sick children will be separated from the group and place them in the teacher's lounge while waiting for their parents to pick up. Facility had its own outdoor play yard in the back of the property. The play yard was shared by 2 separate programs with schedule. CCL granted an Outdoor Rotation waiver to the facility. All play structures at the play area had rubberized cushioning underneath. There were plenty of age-appropriate outdoor toys, see-saw, playhouse, water tables, and sandbox available for children. Fire and Earthquake drills have been done every month and was properly logged. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPA also reviewed the staff's file during the inspection. LPA obtained a copy of the current children roster from the licensee during the inspection. The facility had hand sanitizers, face masks, disinfectant, and touchless thermometer available to protect the children from COVID19.
