25 | On August 11, 2026, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Van and Tso conducted a case management inspection to assess the safety of the newly renovated nap room and identify any potential hazards. At the time of the inspection, the licensee and two assistants were supervising four children, and the licensee was in compliance with required staff-to-child ratios.
On May 20, 2026, the licensee informed the Department that the nap room located at the back of the facility was undergoing renovation to add a window and make other improvements. The licensee submitted the required request and updated floor plan. According to the licensee, the Fire Marshal has inspected the facility and identified only a minor correction before fire clearance can be approved.
The nap room contained two cribs. Each crib was clean, well-maintained, and free of toys, blankets, pillows, and other loose items. Mattresses were firm, properly fitted, and covered with secured fitted sheets. No objects were hanging above or attached to the cribs, and the cribs were positioned to allow clear visibility for supervision. No hazards were observed. LPAs reminded the licensee to install a window stopper; a picture of the installed window stopper will be sent to LPA once completed.
Approval of the nap room will remain pending until the Fire Marshal issues the STD 850 fire clearance to the Department.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with the licensee, Gayane Melikyan.
