25 | On June 4, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leong arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Licensee Marlis Harris and explained the purpose of the visit.
The licensee and her assistant were observed caring for twelve preschool-aged children and one school-aged child. The Guardian Background Check System confirmed that the licensee and the licensee’s assistant hold eligible status with their criminal record clearances. The facility was observed to be operating within the licensed capacity ratio requirements.
The facility operates Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The facility also operates on Monday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Licensing documents are posted on the wall and available for review. Emergency disaster drills were conducted and documented. The most recent drill was completed on March 18, 2026.
One child's Epi_Pen was stored in the home and was found to be current with the prescription label. .
Childcare areas: the living room, the kitchen/dining area, the bathroom, the bedroom toward the backyard, and the backyard
Off-limit Areas: the garage. The licensee understands that off-limits area(s) may not be used for childcare during business hours.
The indoor areas were clean, well-ventilated, and maintained at a comfortable temperature. Age-appropriate furniture, toys, and learning materials were available and in good condition. Hazardous items, including cleaning supplies and chemicals, were stored in areas inaccessible to children.
The home was equipped with a fire extinguisher, a first-aid kit, a smoke detector, and a carbon monoxide detector. LPA tested the smoke detector and the carbon monoxide detector, and both were found to be functioning. The bathroom was clean and contained age-appropriate toileting equipment. The licensee confirmed that no firearms or weapons are stored on the premises.
