25 | On 11/21/2024 at 1:35PM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis Gomez met with Licensee, Sarah Stein. The purpose of today’s visit was explained and was for an unannounced, annual random inspection. Present was the licensee and assistant caring for 10 children. Children present are preschool-age. Adults have criminal record clearances on file. Licensee’s home is a three bedroom, two bathroom, two level house. Days and hours of operations are: Monday- Friday, 8:00AM- 5:00PM. Per licensee, facility follows SFUSD school district calendar. The areas of the home designated for childcare are: Living Room (Playroom); Kitchen; Family Room (Playroom #2); Bedroom #1 (Imagination Room); Bathroom #1; Dining Area (Multi-Purpose Room); and the Outdoor Play Yard. Areas of the home designated as off-limits: Bedroom #2 and Garage. LPA inspected facility indoors and outdoors for health and safety hazards.
At 1:35PM., the following was observed: Facility was clean, neat, with age-appropriate playthings available for the children. The floors and ground surfaces were clear of any obstructions or hazards. Labeled cubbies are available for storage of children’s belongings. For food services, LPA observed table, chairs, scaled to the appropriate size. Furniture, materials, and supplies inspected were in good repair, free of sharp corners or splinters.
For napping services, plastic cots are stored in bedroom #1. Per licensee, napping supplies are washed weekly by families. Bathroom #1 was observed clean, with faucet and toilet in operating condition. Detergents, cleaning compounds, and item which can pose a danger, have been stored in the off-limit areas. Home was a comfortable temperature, ventilation, and lighting. Home has telephone service; carbon monoxide detector, smoke detectors; and fire extinguisher (2A:10BC). (REFER TO 809C, FOR CONT.)
