25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Rodriguez made a scheduled case management inspection and met with Director Stephanie Vorrises. Licensee is requesting a decrease in capacity from 34 to 32 children due to the addition of an ADA lift next to classroom that has lessened the square footage. Preschool is located inside St. Thomas More Catholic School. Present in the classroom were the Director and six teachers. There are no children in care at this time. Facility is currently closed for summer break and will reopen for the fall semester on August 17, 2022. Facility was inspected for health and safety hazards and indoor space was measured to calculate capacity. There are no changes being made to outdoor space.
LPA toured classroom for health and safety hazards. Classroom is equipped with an industrial fire alarm, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. Classroom has one bathroom with two toilets and one sink and an adjacent bathroom with one toilet. There are two additional sinks located right outside of the bathrooms that will be used for children's use. There is a separate bathroom available for staff use on the premises. Classroom has age appropriate toys, furniture, and equipment for children. There is a storage space for children's personal belongings. Nap equipment is stored in a storage closet.
Indoor: Total useable indoor area for classroom now measures at 1,137.24 sq ft divided by 35 sq ft equals 32 children. Licensee is requesting a decrease in capacity for a total of 32 children.
LPA will approve decrease of capacity to 32 children once fire clearance has been granted by Fire Inspector.
No deficiencies cited today under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12.
