13 | On May 22, 2025., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van conducted an unannounced inspection to finalize this complaint and deliver the findings to the Director. LPA met with the Director, Melissa Castillo. The purpose of the inspection was explained, and entry to the Center was granted. Three teachers supervised four infants. The teachers and children ratio were met.
As part of the investigation, LPA interviewed parents of children attending the Center and staff members and reviewed all pertinent documents. Based on the information obtained, the Center has a schedule for children with diaper needs. Teachers check the children's diapers according to the designated time slots. Additionally, the record review revealed that the Center maintained a sufficient teacher-to-infant ratio. Parents' interviews confirmed that the service and supervision at the Center are satisfactory. Their child was never picked up with soiled or dirty diapers, and their children's diapers were always clean. Furthermore, lunch was provided by the family, and the center provided only am & pm snacks.
The Department has investigated the above allegations. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur. Therefore, the allegations are Unsubstantiated.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with the assistant director, Pandora Andriana Chow, since the director, Melissa Castillo, had to attend a meeting. |
