LPA observed that every child has an individual cubby. All emergency equipment is secured and locked. According to the director, the center currently has no children needing medications. However, if there are children who need medications, the center has a centralized medication storage that is locked and inaccessible to children. First aid supplies are completely stocked and accessible for the children's use.
All children's toilets and handwashing sinks are in good working condition and have proper sanitation. There is a separate bathroom for staff use on the premises. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises.
The outdoor play area is kept clean and free of debris. It is also completely fenced, clean, and in good repair. All play structures were observed to be in good working condition. LPA reminded the Director that drinking water should be available and freely accessible. According to the Director, the facility receives drinking water from the Ready Refresh service, which delivers 3 to 5, 5-gallon water bottles monthly. Additionally, the children bring their reusable water bottles, and the staff will refill them both outdoors and indoors as needed.
The director stated that the center provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks, and utilizes frozen food purchased from Costco and Smart & Final, which are pre-washed and pre-packaged snacks for children. Therefore, no food preparation is done at the center. All storage containers for solid waste within the Center have a proper, tight-fitting cover.
All the required postings were observed, including the facility License, Notification of Parent Rights, Personal Rights, Car Seat Law, Emergency Disaster Plan, waiver, and Daily activities.
Random children's records and personnel records were reviewed during the inspection. The review of records revealed that the facility maintains complete records for each child, including immunization records, admission agreements, emergency contact information, and personal rights.
