25 | On 8/29/2024, at approximately 9:00AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jonathan Tse conducted an announced case management visit at the facility. LPA met with Director, Michelle Lawton, and explained the purpose of the visit. The facility is currently closed and does not have children in care.
The facility requested that a visit be conducted to inspect the outdoor play area due to the space being moved back to its original position. The Department was notified of construction being done on the facility's neighboring building, which required the outdoor play space to be temporarily moved. LPA inspected the temporary outdoor play area on 4/15/2024 and found the space and equipment to be age-appropriate and free of health or safety hazards. The temporary space was measured to allow 18 children at a time, which required no change from the facility's original outdoor waiver.
During today's visit, LPA inspected the outdoor play area for any health or safety hazards. The outdoor play area has been restored to its original dimensions, so measurements do not need to be made. LPA observed the outdoor play area to contain age-appropriate equipment and structures. There is resilient padding in the form of woodchips. There is shade available with a large umbrella or the shade from the building. LPA observed there to be climbable rocks. Per Director, only one class goes out to the outdoor play area at a time, and there will be at least two teachers present providing supervision. The facility has a waiver that allows for 18 children to be present at a time. The outdoor area is enclosed by a fence. There are no swimming pools or similar bodies of water present in the facility.
The outdoor play area is approved as of 8/29/2024.
No deficiencies were cited during today's visit on 8/29/2024. A notice of site visit was provided and must be posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Michelle Lawton. |
