Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with a new Site Director, Karla Cernahenriquez. The purpose of the inspection was explained to her. There were 10 children with 3 staff present upon LPA's arrival. All adults had fingerprint clearance. Facility was located in the Laurel Hill Playground. There was a large public playground in the front of the facility. Facility would use the public playground most of the times during the day. There was not many other children using the playground. The facility's operation hours were Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The preschool program was run in 2 classrooms (one large and one small) and a children's bathroom with 2 toilets and 2 sinks. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order. Temperature and lighting were adequate. All toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible to the children. All electrical outlets were covered. The facility had right amount of cubbies available for the children to store their personal belongings. The children's bathroom was clean and in order. LPA did not observe any toxins and harmful objects in it. There was a staff bathroom available in the small classroom. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning material, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repair available indoor. Mats were used for napping. Children have brought their own bedding to school. Children have taken the bedding to home for washing every Friday and brought them back the following school day. Children have brought their own meals and water bottles to school daily. Facility had its own exclusive use outdoor play area on site, but the facility has taken children to the public playground in front of the building daily. The facility's outdoor play area was fenced. It was clean and free of harmful objects. The facility had a rolling cart with children's water bottles, water pitcher, and hand sanitizer to the public playground whenever the children play there. The facility has conducted the emergency drill monthly and logged. Per Karla, there was no children on special medication. The facility had all the required postings. LPA reviewed the children and staff files during the inspection. LPA also obtained a copy of the children's roster from the facility during the inspection. At least one staff had current CPR/First Aid training available. Staff had current Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training available.
