Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with an Infant Head Teacher, Jennifer Quach. The purpose of the inspection was explained to her. Per Jennifer, the Site director came in late today. The Site Director, Joanna Prado arrived during the inspection. There were 15 children that included 7 infants and 8 toddlers with 6 staff present. All adults were fingerprinted. The facility's operation hours were Monday to Friday from 7:30AM to 6:00PM. The facility was located in the T 35 building that was behind the VA Hospital. The facility is a combination centers with Infant and Preschool programs. The Toddler options goes with the Infant Program. The operation hours of the facility were Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. The infant and Toddler programs were run in the rooms on the left of the Preschool classroom. It has the adjacent outdoor play yards in the back of the rooms available for the children. The yards for the infant and Toddler were separated by a fence with a gate. LPA toured the facility for health and safety hazards. Per Jennifer, the facility used "Bright Wheel" system to keep track on the sign in/out and other options for the facility, The facility was clean and in order. The temperature and lighting were adequate. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, and learning material available for the children indoor. Right amounts of cubbies available for the children to store their personal belongings. The facility also installed a gate at the food preparation counter and feeding area to prevent children's access without staff's permission in the infant's room. The facility also installed a gate at the napping area that was clean and in order. All the electrical outlets were covered. The facility had a Glider and a recliner chairs available for the staff to take care of the children. Diaper changing tables with pads were available in both rooms. All the lower cabinets and drawers were either latched or free of harmful objects. There were 2 small size and 1 mid-size fish tanks with tide lids available in the Toddler's room. There was a sink with children's level available for children in the classroom. The children for both program brought their own food to the center. The facility provided AM/PM snack to the toddlers. The toddlers also brought their own water bottles to school. The facility provided tap water to the daycare children. Per Jennifer, there was a child in infant's program and another child in Toddler's program on special medication. LPA inspected the medication during the inspection. The outdoor playyard for both programs were completely fenced. The facility installed a gate at the stairway in the toddler's yard. The facility installed the soft cushioning to the ground in both yards to prevent injury. There were a plenty of age-appropriate toys, play houses, slide structures, sandboxes, and ride-on-toys available for the children. Those items were in good condition and repair. The facility also wrapped the metal pole with the soft cushioning to prevent injury in the infant's yard. LPA observed a music teacher from outside singing to the infants at the play yard with 2 staff present. The facility has conducted the fire drill at least 2 times a year and logged. There was at least one staff had current CPR/First Aid Training available for review during the inspection. LPA reviewed the staff and children files during the inspection. LPA also obtained a copy of the current Children's roster from the licensee during the inspection. The facility had hand sanitizer, touchless thermometer, and disinfectant available to prevent COVID19.
