25 | On 8/7/2024, at approximately 8:35AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jonathan Tse conducted an announced case management visit at the facility. LPA met with Director Katy Wang (D1) and explained the purpose of the visit. Due to the facility being closed over the summer, there are no children in care on this day. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a follow-up visit for a case management visit on 11/1/2023 for a requested increase of capacity.
The facility renovated the outdoor play area during the summer of 2024 and completed renovations in August 2024. LPA inspected the outdoor play area and found there to be age-appropriate play structures and equipment available. There is resilient cushioning installed in each play area. The outdoor play area is enclosed by a fence that is at least four feet high.
During the visit, LPA measured Classrooms 6, 7, 8, and 9. Classroom 6 measured at 638.29 sq. ft. Classroom 7 measured at 643.4 sq. ft. Classroom 8 measured at 800.1 sq. ft. Classroom 9 measured at 714.3 sq. ft. The total measured indoor activity space is 2747.1 sq. ft, which allows for the addition of 78 children to the facility's capacity.
LPA measured the outdoor play area to be 6674.2 sq. ft., which allows for 88 children to be present at a time. LPA advised that D1 shall submit an outdoor rotation waiver request to ensure that all children have access to the outdoor play area. D1 stated that they understood, and provided an outdoor rotation waiver request to LPA during the visit.
During the inspection, LPA observed there to be 20 sinks and 13 toilets available for use. The facility meets the toilet and sink ratio for 195 children.
