25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the licensee, Yan Hong Zhou (Joanne) and her helper who has fingerprint clearance. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to her. The licensee stayed the total enrolled children were 12 children that included full and part time at that time. There were 6 children that included 2 infants present with the licensee and a helper during the inspection. The facility is called " Joanne's Day Care” and the operation hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM. The daycare area was the entire upper level except kitchen area and a front yard. The off-limit areas are the kitchen area on the upper level and the entire lower level. Per licensee, she had moved to lower level and uses the entire level for her own. LPA The facility was clean and in order, the temperature and lighting were adequate, and the toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible to the kitchen. The licensee installed the soft cushioning to the entire day care areas to prevent injury. The licensee also installed a gate the entrance of the kitchen area to prevent children accessing to the off-limit area. The licensee separated the daycare play area into 2 sections. One of the sections that next to the kitchen area was sectional with cabinets and barricade for the younger children and another section was for the older children. There were plenty of the age-appropriate toys, books learning material and equipment and children's furniture that was in good condition and repaired. There was a fully charged fire extinguisher, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, working cellular phone and first aid supplies available in the facility. Per licensee, she has no weapons, guns, or pets in the house. The children's bathroom was clean. The lower bathroom sink cabinet was latched. All electrical outlets and sharp corners were covered. Mats, cribs, and play pens were used for napping. The licensee has provided breakfast, AM/PM Snacks, lunch, and dinner to the children. Boosters were available for feeding only. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced. It is in the front of the house and next to the driveway. There was shade and soft cushioning installed in the play area. There were some age-appropriate outdoor toys, slide with soft cushioning underneath, some ride-on toys and children's size sink available for children. Per the licensee, there was no children on special medication. The licensee and the helpers had current CPR/ First Aid training and Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training available for review. Per licensee, the disaster drill has been conducted monthly and logged. LPA reviewed the children's file and obtained a copy of the current children roster from the licensee during the inspection.
