25 | On August 20, 2024 at approximately 11:15am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with licensee, Peter Leetz, and explained the purpose of the visit.
Licensee lives in the home with their spouse and three minor children (1 school age). Present during LPA's visit included licensee, 3 assistants, and 7 children (2 infants and 5 preschool age). Licensee is operating within capacity limits and ratio.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm. The home is a multi-level home with three levels. Family child care operates on the second level (main level) of the home. The DAY CARE AREAS are living room, bedroom #1 (nap room), bathroom #1 (hallway bathroom), kitchen, dining area, and backyard. The OFF-LIMIT AREAS are the entire third level and ground level. There are stairs in the home and in the backyard that include child safety gates.
With licensee, LPA inspected day care areas for health and safety hazards. Home is in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Home includes a variety of toys and materials that are in good condition. There is a fireplace in the home that is made inaccessible to children. Flooring in home includes carpets that are in good condition, free of stains. LPA observed cabinets in kitchen with hazardous materials to include child safety locks. LPA also observed knives in kitchen to be stored on high shelves, inaccessible to children.
LPA observed cleaning supplies, poisons and solutions to be made inaccessible behind child safety locked cabinets and/or stored in home's high shelves. Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher, multiple smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and a fully stocked first aid kit/emergency backpack.
