LPAs toured and inspected the Licensee's home to identify any potential health and safety risks. The facility is well-maintained, with adequate temperature control and ventilation. The licensee offered a variety of toys and learning materials for all ages at her facility. All cleaning products, harmful substances, and other chemicals are stored out of reach of the children. The facility is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher, a combination smoke & carbon monoxide detector, and a functioning phone.
According to the licensee, all children napped on cots, except for an infant who required a playpen. LPAs reminded the licensee to ensure the playpen is free of toys, blankets, or pillows when placing the infant down during napping. Additionally, the mattress must fit properly, and the sheet must be securely in place. LPAs reminded the licensee that a sleeping shack is not allowed.
The 15-minute sleep logs for infants were reviewed, and it was confirmed that the licensee had accurately recorded the logs, including the date and time of each entry. LPAs also reminded the licensee to keep at least 30 days of logs available for review during the annual inspection and to retain records for a period of three years.
The facility has a fully stocked first aid kit for children. There were no pools, spas, or bodies of water on the site.
The backyard is fully fenced and well-stocked with a variety of outdoor toys and equipment in good condition. Half of the backyard has padded rubber flooring to prevent injuries and protect children from falls. The other half is gated, where the licensee has fruit trees for children to explore.
LPAs reviewed the children's records. The Licensee maintains records for all enrolled children in her care, including vaccination records and Parental Rights forms. LPAs noted that each kid had a complete emergency information card that included the child's full name, phone number, and the location of a parent or authorized person who may be called in an emergency. LPAs reminded the licensee to review the children’s files periodically to ensure completeness.
