25 | On April 4, 2024., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van met with Licensee’s husband and her helper, Hui Liu, for an unannounced case management inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to process a capacity increase requested by the licensee. Present at the inspection were five preschool children supervised by the helper. The hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM. This facility has applied for a capacity increase from 8 to 14. The Licensee came home from her doctor's appointment during the visit.
LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. Currently, the childcare areas are on the second floor, including the living room, the bedroom next to the living room, the kitchen/dining area, the bathroom, and ½ of the backyard, and the off-limit areas are the other two bedrooms on the back and the bathroom next to the kitchen on the second floor, the whole ground level, the garage, and the other ½ of the backyard. However, as part of the capacity increase, the licensee moved the childcare area to the ground floor and made the whole second floor off-limits. In addition, the Licensee expends the entire backyard area for childcare.
The new childcare areas on the ground floor consist of a large room/play and activities room, a kitchenette area, a nap room, and two bathrooms. The childcare areas are clean and have age-appropriate toys and learning materials. There is age-appropriate furniture, which is sturdy and in good repair. The facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards. The children's bathrooms are in good working condition and have proper sanitation.
