25 | On June 17th, 2024, at approximately 2:00 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Gil and Leong conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPAs met with Licensees,Eva and Owen Velez , and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present during LPA’s visit included both licensees, two minor children, and 5 enrolled children (1 infants and 4 preschoolers). The licensees are a small license and is operating within capacity limits and ratio.
Licensees rent home, which is 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathroom, multi level house. Both Licensees live in home with two minor children. All adults living and working in the home have fingerprint clearance. Facility operates Monday Through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Day Care Areas: include the living room, office, backyard, kitchen, and bathroom #2
Off Limit Areas: Bedroom #1, bedroom #2, bathroom #1, and closets. All off-limit areas are appropriately barricaded.
At approximately 2:30 PM, LPAs toured day care areas of home with licensee. LPAs observed the home to be in repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Home is equipped with a variety of toys and materials that were observed to be in good working condition. LPAs observed a fully stocked accessible first aid kit located in the hallway closet near the kitchen area. LPAs did not observe any accessible cleaning supplies, poisons, and solutions in day care areas. All cleaning supplies is kept in locked laundry room, off limits to children in care. Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher and a dual smoke and carbon monoxide detector in kitchen area. LPAs did not test carbon monoxide detector in hallway area near Day Care Bathroom, due to children in care being in nap time. Safety locks are installed in cabinets of the kitchen area. Licensees stated there is one children in care with a peanut allergy. Per licensee, she provides food for the children in care.
At approximately 3:00 PM, LPAs observed bathroom for children's use was in proper working condition. LPAs observed bathroom to include appropriate toileting equipment and sanitation products. LPAs did not observe any hazardous materials to be accessible to children in the bathroom.
