All cleaning products, harmful substances, and other chemicals are stored out of reach of the children.
Per the licensee, no firearms, weapons, or pets were on the premises, and no baby walkers, bouncers, or similar equipment were used in the childcare home. The Licensee was informed that smoking is prohibited in the family childcare home.
The backyard is completely fenced, clean, and well-maintained, with a variety of play structures.
LPA noticed the playpens were clear of toys, pillows, or hanging objects. The padding and bed sheets were snugly fitted. The 15-minute infant sleeping logs were provided to LPA for review during the visit. It was confirmed that the logs were accurately maintained with dates, times, and staff initials. LPA reminded the licensee to keep the door to the infant nap room open during infant naps. LPA also reminded the licensee to keep at least 30 days of logs for review during the annual inspection, and to retain the records for 3 years.
According to the Licensee, regular fire and earthquake drills are conducted at least once every six months. The most recent drill was conducted on 8/8/2025.
Children's and personnel records were reviewed. The licensee maintained complete records for each child, including vaccination and parental rights forms, and consent for medical treatment. Both the licensee and her assistant had completed the required licensing forms, mandated reporter training, and valid Pediatric First Aid/CPR certifications.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
