Children bring their own water bottles for refilling, and drinking water is obtained from a filtered sink. LPA observed that milk bottles stored in the upstairs refrigerator were labeled with each child’s name,
LPA observed that the facility uses cribs and cots for children’s naps. The facility provides the sheets, which are laundered weekly. Parents provide the blankets, and the facility launders them weekly as well. LPA observed that infant mattresses were equipped with fitted sheets and contained no loose items. Each infant’s crib was clearly identified with a name label.
Water is refilled into the children’s water bottles and taken with them when they are outdoors. The outdoor play area was fully fenced and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment. Turf padding was observed beneath the outdoor play surfaces. All toys and equipment appeared to be in good condition. No pools, spas, or other bodies of water were observed on the premises.
Required licensing documents were posted and available for review. Emergency disaster drills are conducted and documented. The most recent drill was on January 15, 2026. Children are signed in and out on a sheet of paper. The sheet of paper confirmed that all children on site were signed in to the facility.
LPA reviewed five children’s records and found that two children’s files contained all required licensing forms and immunization records. Three children’s records were either missing information or were incomplete. LPA reminded the director that all required children’s licensing forms must be fully completed and maintained in each child’s file.
Five children’s infant sleep logs, which included the date, time, staff initials, and sleep position, were reviewed and found to be complete.
LPA reviewed the records of five staff members and found that all five hold valid Pediatric CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter Training certifications. Transcripts for four staff members were reviewed and confirmed to meet the educational requirements for an infant teacher. The fifth staff member did not have the required Infant/Toddler course on their transcript, which means she must work under the supervision of a qualified teacher.
Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
