25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with the licensee, Jennifer Raeder, and explained the purpose of the inspection to her. There were 3 children including two preschoolers and an infant. The licensee owns this 2 story-single-family house and lives with her spouse and 2 minor children. The house has 2 bedrooms, an office, a living room, a kitchen with an adjacent dining area and a bathroom on the upper level; an in-law with 2 rooms (a playroom and a nap room), a kitchenette & a bathroom, a garage, and a backyard on the lower level. The daycare areas are the entire lower level including an in-law and a backyard. The off-limit areas are the entire upper level, a garage, and a deck in the backyard. The facility is called JEN'S DAYCARE, and the operation hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order, temperature and lighting were adequate, and toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible to the children. The licensee covered all the sharp corners and electrical outlets. There were a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working cellular phone, first aid supplies and working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors available. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning material and equipment and children's furniture that were in good condition and repaired. The licensee installed a gate at the entrance of the daycare areas and installed childproof knobs to the nap room door and a door to the garage to prevent children accessing to the areas by themselves. The facility had hooks on the walls for the children to hang their jackets by the back door to the yard. The facility had a big bag to store the children’s shoes by the daycare entrance. The lower kitchen cabinets and drawers were latched. The children's bathroom was clean and in order. The lower bathroom sink cabinet was latched. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced. The licensee installed gates at the stairways in the yard. There were some outdoor toys, ride-on toys, seesaws, a playhouse, water/sand tables and children furniture that were in good condition and repaired available for children outdoor. The facility provides AM/PM snacks and lunch to the children. Per licensee, there was no pets, guns, or weapons at home. Highchairs were available for feeding only. Play pens were used for napping. Per licensee, there was a child on special medication. LPA inspected the medication during the inspection. The facility has conducted the disaster drills with children every 4 months and logged properly. LPA reviewed the children's files and obtained a copy of the current children roster during the inspection. The licensee had current CPR/First Aid training and Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training, they will expire in 7/2024 and 12/2024.
