25 | On 1/28/2025 at 11:55AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis Gomez met with Director, Victoria Lam. The purpose of today's visit was explained and was for an unannounced, annual random inspection. This facility is licensed to operate a preschool-age program. Present was Director and 10 staff supervising 47 children. The days and hours of operation are Monday- Friday, 8:00AM- 5:30PM., Staff in facility have criminal record clearances on file. Children present had been signed-in by guardians. Program utilizes four classrooms: Discover Room, 3-4 years old; Explorer Room, 4-5 years old; Petite Explorer, 2 year old; Wonder Room, 2 year old and two, shared, outside play areas. LPA observed approved waiver, for rotational use of outdoor space posted in facility. LPA inspected facility, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards.
At 12:00PM., LPA observed the following: Classrooms were clean, neat, with age-appropriate materials and playthings available for the children. Floors and walkways were clear of hazards leading to the exits. Classrooms were equipped with several tables, chairs, and labeled cubbies for storage of belongings. LPA advised director to ensure the children’s items do not come in contact with each other.
All furniture inspected was scaled to the appropriate size. Safety locks have been installed on windows. The children’s bathrooms were clean with available supplies for handwashing. Toilets and faucets inspected were in operating condition. Facility had extra drawers and cabinets for added storage.
For scheduled rest/ nap services, LPA observed plastic covered mat available. Per director, blankets and supplies are washed weekly by families.
The kitchen/ storage areas were free of any liter/ rubbish, with all food items reviewed current and properly stored. (REFER TO 809C, FOR CONT.)
