Multiple fully charged 2A:10BC fire extinguishers were observed, along with a functioning telephone, centralized smoke alarm, and carbon monoxide detector. Emergency supplies are stored in locked cabinets, and first aid kits are fully stocked and accessible to staff.
All hazardous materials, including cleaning supplies and disinfectants, were stored in a locked storage room inaccessible to children. Medications brought by families were stored in a designated medication backpack within the child’s classroom. All medications were in their original containers with proper parental authorization.
Toilets and handwashing sinks were in good working order and maintained appropriate sanitation. No bodies of water were observed on the premises.
The facility has an approved outdoor waiver that allows no more than 23 children on the playground at a time. The waiver was posted. The outdoor area has been recently upgraded with new fencing and artificial grass. Age-appropriate outdoor toys and play structures were in good condition. Artificial turf beneath the play structures provides cushioning to reduce the risk of fall-related injuries.
During the inspection, LPA reviewed children’s and staff records. Children’s files were complete and included required contact information, immunization records, medical assessments, and admission agreements. Staff files showed the required educational qualifications, including completion of ECE units. Multiple staff members hold current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certifications. LPA reminded the Director that the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) training must be renewed annually.
The Director reported that fire and earthquake drills are conducted monthly, with the most recent drill completed on April 30, 2026.
Required postings were observed, including the facility license, Parents’ Rights, Personal Rights, Car Seat Law, Emergency Disaster Plan, and daily activity schedule. The Director stated that the center provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Children bring water bottles from home, and additional water pitchers are available indoors and outdoors for refills. All solid-waste containers had tight-fitting lids.
