25 | On October 11, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van conducted an annual random inspection and met the Licensee, Yuting Li. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to the Licensee and was given access to the home. Upon entering the house, LPA observed two assistants and the licensee having a free play. The licensee and two assistants supervised seven children. During the visit, two more children arrived, bringing the total to nine (four infants and five preschoolers). The licensee complies with the licensing capacity and limits today.
Per the Licensee, there were no changes to the previously approved childcare areas. Childcare Areas (First floor only): Living room, kitchenette, bathroom, and backyard. Off Limit Areas: First floor: Bedroom #1, garage, and the entire second floor.
LPA and the Licensee inspected the childcare areas for any potential dangers to health and safety hazards. The childcare areas were clean, and age-appropriate books and activities were available for children. The childcare areas also had good heating, lighting, and ventilation, and no potential hazards posed any risk to children. There is a combination of carbon monoxide and smoke detector and a fully charged fire extinguisher with a specification of 3A 40 BC.
LPA observed three cribs in the childcare areas. LPA reminded the licensee to keep the cribs free of toys, blankets, or pillows when infants are napping. The mattresses must fit the cribs’ dimensions, and the bedsheets must be snugly secured. Upon reviewing the infant's sleeping logs, it was found that the logs were not consistently documented. The records indicated that from August to October, there was no documentation of the 15-minute checks for all four infants. As a result, Type B deficiency was cited.
