The infant classrooms are all well stocked with age-appropriate toys and educational materials. The furniture is sturdy and well maintained. The facility has carbon monoxide, centralized smoke detectors, multiple fully charged fire extinguishers, and functioning telephones. All hazardous materials, including cleaning solutions and poisons, are kept out of the reach of children.
LPAs observed that each child has an individual cubby with their names and pictures on them. According to the licensee, the center currently has no children with medications. Upon entering the infant area, LPA observed that there were 4 infant cribs that were free of any objects, there were five cots stored nearby for older infants to sleep on. Infant bedding is washed daily and there is a washer and dryer on the premises.
LPA observed the infant changing table to be properly positioned within arm’s reach of a sink. There is a separate toilet designated for older infants that is separated from the toilets used by preschool children. All toilets and hand washing sinks are in good working order and have proper sanitation. There is a separate bathroom available for staff use on the premises.
According to the licensee, no pools, spas, or bodies of water are on the premises. Furthermore, the licensee stated that the center has no guns or weapons on site.
The director said that the center offers lunch and afternoon snacks. The center provides water to children when needed from the tap. All storage containers for solid waste/trash within the center have proper tight-fitting lids.
All the required postings were observed to be visible to the public, including the facility License, Notification of Parent Rights, Personal Rights, Car Seat Law, Emergency Disaster Plan, waiver, and a record of Daily activities.
LPA selected 5 random children's records, and 6 personnel records were reviewed during the inspection. Records review showed the facility has complete records of each child, including immunization, admission agreements, emergency contact, and personal rights. Multiple staff members have records of valid CPR certifications and mandated reporter training certificates.
