25 | On August 29, 2024, at approximately 8.50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tso met with Director Stefanie Stoddard for an unannounced required visit to the child care center listed above. LPA explained the reason for the inspection and was granted access to the facility. This is a combination Center with Toddler and Preschool programs operating in the same building. There is no child in care in the facility today as the facility had not yet opened for the school year 2024-2025. The facility was under preparation for opening on 9/5/2024. The hours of operation are Monday- Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
LPA assessed the Center for Health and Safety Hazards with the Director. The facility maintains a electronic record of sign-in/out for children. The children’s classroom environment appeared clean and organized, with appropriate heating, lighting, and ventilation. The Center also provided age-appropriate toys, furnishings, changing table in the toddler classroom and equipment. LPA did not observe any pools, spas, or other bodies of water, nor did they notice any bouncers, exersaucers, or similar equipment at the facility. According to the Licensee, no firearms or weapons are present at the Center, and all cleaning materials and potentially hazardous objects are kept out of reach of children. Personnel restrooms are separate from the children, and all solid waste storage containers have tightly fitted lids. The Center also maintains a carbon monoxide detector in each classroom (tested in working conditions), centralized smoke alarm, fully charged fire extinguisher, and First Aid kit. Designated hanging hooks are available for children to store their belongings in their bags. In the toddler classroom, the diaper changing table has at least 3" elevated edges. The changing table is within arm's reach of the sink. There is sufficient sleeping equipment and cots for each preschool child, and all mats and bedding are kept in the appropriate location. Per the Director, the meals are provided by the parents. The facility provides snacks only. LPA also observed that the snacks preparation site is clean, organized, and inaccessible to children.
