A health and safety inspection of the indoor and outdoor areas found the facility clean, well-maintained, and free of hazards. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and toxic substances were inaccessible to the children. All accessible cabinets and drawers in the classrooms contained no hazardous materials.
The facility was equipped with age-appropriate toys, furniture, and learning materials. Each child had a designated storage area labeled with their name. A diaper-changing table was positioned within arm’s reach of a sink in the toddler room. The bathroom was clean, fully operational, and with essential sanitation supplies.
The facility has an outdoor waiver approved by the Department, which allows no more than twenty-five children at a time. LPA observed twenty-three children with ten staff members in the outdoor playground, in compliance with the outdoor waiver. The outdoor playground was clean and free of debris, with a fence at least four feet tall. Play equipment was in good condition, with no sharp, loose, or pointed parts. No pools, spas, or bodies of water were present on the property. The outdoor activity area had a drinking water fountain.
The facility provides morning and afternoon snacks for its children. Parents are required to provide their child's lunch. The facility has filtered water available for its children.
The facility provides cots for children to take naps in. According to S1, toddlers do not take naps and are picked up at noon. LPA observed that sheets and blankets were available for the children. The facility provides sheets for its children, washing them weekly or as needed. The facility requires parents to supply blankets for their children, which are laundered weekly by the parents.
LPA reviewed five children’s files and found that each record is complete. The files contained emergency identification information and required immunizations.
LPA reviewed five staff files and found that three staff members have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates, and two had Mandated Reporter Training certificates. Therefore, the facility will receive a technical violation for not having current Mandated Reporter Training certificates for all staff.
